About me

Welcome to my site.

I am an experienced and qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, and I run my private practice from a comfortable and safe room in my home in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

My Approach

I believe that counselling can give you the space to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, and the clarity to make any changes you may feel you need.

I also have a special interest in working with clients who have experienced trauma from my experience as a rape and sexual abuse counsellor.

I understand the coping mechanisms that many people adopt after traumatic events, that may have helped protect them at the time.  These can include alcohol abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, low self-esteem, poor sleeping patterns, intimacy issues, feelings of shame, flashbacks and dissociation.

What to expect in our first Session

I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in my work, and so our initial meeting will give us a chance to see if we can comfortably work together.

I will explain how I like to work and will invite you to tell me a little of what brings you to therapy. Please don't worry about having to talk about anything you are not comfortable with. You can begin wherever you like, and feel confident that I will hold your safety in mind at all times to ensure you are not overwhelmed. You are welcome to ask me any questions or share any worries you may have about my work and counselling in general.
