EMDR Therapy
Life can leave us carrying pain from the past with memories that feel stuck, emotions that resurface unexpectedly, or patterns that keep repeating. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a powerful and gentle therapy designed to help you process these experiences and find relief.

As an EMDR therapist in training I offer EMDR-informed therapy as part of a warm, supportive space where healing can unfold at your own pace.

What Is EMDR?
EMDR helps the brain process difficult memories that may be keeping us stuck in distress, fear, or shame. It uses gentle techniques such as eye movements or tapping to activate the brain’s natural healing abilities.

It can be especially helpful if you’re struggling with:

-
Traumatic or overwhelming experiences
-
Anxiety, panic, or phobias
-
Low self-worth or self-criticism
-
Grief and loss
-
Feeling “on edge” or emotionally numb

You don’t need to talk in detail about what happened. EMDR works with the memory in a way that feels safe, contained, and focused on helping you move forward.

My Approach
I’ve completed Part One of EMDR training and offer EMDR-informed sessions as part of my therapy work. This means I may incorporate EMDR techniques where appropriate, and I do so under the guidance of a qualified EMDR supervisor to ensure your safety and care.

What to Expect
Every session is shaped around your needs. We’ll work together to:

-
Understand what’s feeling difficult for you right now
-
Explore how past experiences might still be affecting you
-
Use EMDR techniques when it feels right — always with your consent, and at your pace
There’s no pressure to move quickly and I use EMDR alongside my humanistic therapeutic approaches as part of a steady, compassionate process.

Is EMDR Right for You?
Please get in touch if you’re curious about EMDR or unsure whether it’s the right fit. I offer a brief free phone consultation so we can talk things through and see what feels supportive for you.
